"Drippin' -n- Sugar -n- Blues"
“Drippin’ -n- Sugar -n- Blues,” is a blend of sheer fun, sassy blues, and sweet ballads. It utters topics I might be too shy to confront one-on-one, but through the tunes of Nina Simone’s “Sugar in My Bowl,” Duke Ellington’s “Rocks in My Bed,” and originals of Julie Ponce’s “Mess of a Man” and Ruby Flowers’ “My Old Man,” I can be freely expressive. Speaking to the whispers of my heart are beautiful ballads like Streisand’s “The Way He Makes Me Feel” and the Negro spiritual “I Want Jesus to Walk With Me” which seals the deal in a truly prayerful way. There are 10 total, and I put my all into each and every song. I hope you enjoy listening to me pour out my soul to you and leave a little sweetness down in yours.

This afternoon jazz vespers was recorded live as a fundraising project to aid Robin’s efforts to minister in song with the Chicago Black Catholic Choir at the Kilkenny Ireland Gospel Music Festival, thus entitled “Paving the Road to Dublin.”
Accompanied by incredibly talented musicians: Roger Harris, piano, Rolfe Hokanson, bass, and George Aparo, drums, the combo create a soul-stirring, spiritually engaging impact from start to finish. You are in for a real treat!

"Fine and Mellow: A Tribute to Billie Holiday"
Robin Watson's new CD release "Fine and Mellow" is a personal tribute to Lady Day Billie Holiday. Ms. Watson, an accomplished singer of the Jazz, Blues, Pop and Soul genre in her own right, highlights the nuance of Holiday's unique vocal style while incorporating her own energy and range that has kept her in demand locally as well as past tours outside of the USA. Her rendition of Billie's classic "You've Changed," the prophetic tune “God Bless the Child," to the bluesy swing of the title tune, “Fine and Mellow,” not only show Ms. Watson's range of emotion and depth as a singer, but she understands the history behind the lyrics. It is a perfect balance of honoring one of the pioneers of women jazz singers with a fresh look.
